the final show for all four of us will take place in Artone, the art faculty at chichester university. it opens on monday 5th sept until thursday 15th sept. the private view takes place from 6-8pm on wed 7th sept.

eastleigh college end of year student show

please come and visit us at Desborough Road, Eastleigh this week. There are over 90 students showing their work, this includes City and Guilds Embroidery and Patchwork at all levels, the Contemporary Textile Workshop, and also two years of the Foundation Degree in Stitched Textiles. During the show, we, the Stitched Textiles team will be interviewing candidates for the FdA to start in early October this year.

hooray, just finished the final dyeing for my interim MA show which i get to put up on friday… I have made fifteen panels measuring 2 1/2 metres each. I will post some images when it is hanging. It is called ‘Continuum’ and will be at the Otter gallery which is in Chichester University, U.K. til 6 March. If you are in the area do pop in .. there only four of us exhibiting but hopefully it will be a good if small exhibition. so . lots of rinsing and ironing still to go .. no stitch which is unheard of for me .. but it is MA Fine Art! hopefully for the final show i will have worked out some stitch.

i am now into the second year of my MA Fine Art course at Chichester University and have startedto work with handwriting and communication . l would be grateful if you could send me a handwritten postcard please. it is the identity and markmaking of your handwriting that i am interested in, not the picture on the front! i would also like it to have gone through the post office franking if possible. you will find my address in my contacts page. many thanks for your help

end of the summer and looking to the new year ahead

Its been a fairly turbulent summer but by hook or by crook we have arrived at the end of this summer and are about to embark on the new college year. its going to be an exciting one i am sure .. interviews continue for the new students on the foundation degree at Eastleigh college and the city and guilds classes start next week as well as the non accredited courses.

If you havent signed up for classes this term yet, then please do come and join us at Eastleigh. our classes are thriving , in the textiles area we cater for embroidery, patchwork, dressmaking and a post city and guilds workshop as well as the foundation degree in stitched textiles …

if you dont sign up this year then come and see what we do, with our students end of year show the first weekend in july, more details here later

My MA at Chichester has restarted and that will provide huge challenges ahead, hopefully concluding this time next year with our final exhibition

Eastleigh college are running a coach to the knitting and stitching show at Alexandra Palace on saturday 9th october 2010. the cost is £23 to include entry ticket and a seat on the coach, payment secures your place. coach leaves carnbury centre of eastleigh college at 8.30am and leaves alexandra palace at 5pm. contact kim miller on 02380 322140 or kmiller@eastleigh.ac.uk to book
