Thanks to Kim Thittichai, who has pointed out that from 14 March 15 there is an Alexander McQueen exhibition at the V&A museum, this is definitely a must see
Hi Everyone.. I have mixed feelings as I write this entry in my blog …. Unfortunately I have heard from Rozanne Hawksley and she has told me that she has found out that she needs a hip replacement imminently and also that she has to have eye surgery with more follow up treatment . So, she has to withdraw from coming to talk to us in the third of the ‘Tea With’ series of lectures. I am so sorry that she has had to cancel, but eternally grateful to her for letting us know early enough for us to re-arrange the day. I am about to write to her with the good news that someone has stepped into the breach so that she doesn’t feel too bad! We wish her well with the surgeries and for a speedy recovery.
The good news however is that Jae Maries has agreed to come and give the third lecture in the series. Until recently she has been chair of the 62 group and creates the most wonderful large scale works of which I am the proud possessor of one, Bert hangs at the top of my stairs and will eternally be walking away from me through the wall..
This is a quote taken from Jae’s website..
‘Jae Maries’ themes often revolve around figures in an environment. She uses her thumbnail sketches as inspiration which she then develops into life-size wall-hung textile pieces. She works in a variety of media and enjoys the challenge of combining textured stitches surfaces with oil-painted fabric panels. Jae’s current work is developing a daily visual diary. This is a new direction for her and she is curious to see where it leads.’
I am sure that we will all have a lovely afternoon with Jae.. watch this space and I will post the flyer and let you know when the tickets are avilable …but for now, save the date, Sat 13th June at Lower Upham Village Hall… this is on the main road between Fishers Pond and Bishop’s Waltham outside Winchester, opposite the Alma Public House
As promised, here is a save the date invitation…. June 13 th 2015…

Room 6 is organising the third in the series of ‘tea with….’ the first one in 2013 was tea with Alice Kettle,
the second in 2014 was tea with Matthew Harris. The third one in June 2015 is ‘tea with Rozanne Hawksley’.
We are thrilled that Rozanne is coming to talk to us on June 13 th 2015 at Lower Upham village hall which is where the Alice Kettle day was but hopefully without the snow!
If you are unfamiliar with her work then do visit www.rozannehawksley.com. Or simply Google her images.
I will let you know when the tickets go on sale.
